After Ulsan Hyundai and Daegu won the ACL playoffs, they were allocated into the the group with Guangzhou and Shandong. Shandong Taishan in Group F against Urawa Red Diamonds, Daegu FC, Lion City Sailors. Guangzhou in Group I against Kawasaki Frontale, Ulsan Hyundai and Johor.
